It was a typical evening at a local Annapolis tavern, until a young woman walked in, collapsed and died.

The cause of her death was anything but natural. Something had latched itself to the base of her skull. Some type of creature unlike anything seen before - something that came out of the darkness when the lights went down. And it didn't come alone. 

When a small town is blanketed by a mysterious, suffocating fade, the few survivors who remain must confront horrors that defy reason and prey on the deepest fractures of the human soul.

The shadows aren't empty anymore. They're watching. They're waiting. And whatever has settled into the dark places of this world has no intention of leaving — because it's already found a way inside.
