The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
  by L. Frank Baum

Narrated by Brooke Shields

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz : The story chronicles the adventures of a girl named Dorothy in the Land of Oz. The Wizard of Oz is one of the best-known stories in English popular culture and has been widely translated.

Dorothy Gale is an orphaned young girl unhappy with her drab black-and-white existence on her aunt and uncle's dusty Kansas farm. Dorothy yearns to travel "over the rainbow" to a different world, and she gets her wish when a tornado whisks her and her little dog, Toto, to the Land of Oz.

Things in Oz are strange and beautiful, but Dorothy just wants to get back home. She's helped by the Good Witch of the North, but she's also in trouble with the Wicked Witch of the West. On the journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, who everyone says can help her return home, Dorothy meets some memorable friends and frightening foes. She meets a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. They all hope the Wizard of Oz will help them.
