The Haunting of Hill House
Narrated by David Warner
Written by Shirley Jackson

Hill House was "born bad." At no point in its existence was it ever a place of refuge or comfort. Hill House isn't a magnet that attracts evildoers, but rather it's a mirror that reflects and amplifies the little bits of evil we all have within us. It's a cat that enjoys playing with its prey, almost letting them escape again and again only to catch them and drag them back into the darkness. It lulls people into complacency with good food, comfortable furniture, and boring normalcy by day, only to frighten them to the point of insanity in the night. But the worst thing the house does is suck the good out of people leaving them cold, greedy, and uncaring shells of themselves.

And sometimes it takes even more than that.
