The Secret Diary
of Adrian Mole
Narrated by Nicholas Barnes
Written by Sue Townsend

Adrian Mole's first love, Pandora, has left him; a neighbor, Mr. Lucas, appears to be seducing his mother (and what does that mean for his father?); the BBC refuses to publish his poetry; and his dog swallowed the tree off the Christmas cake. "Why" indeed.

This is a deceptively simple work, with a title that would suggest it was a children's book, or at most, aimed at teenagers. However. The subject matter is very adult, dealing as it does with marriage breakup, the problems of old age, first love and bullying. But the book isn't all serious - there is real and well seen humor and the story is fast paced and easy to read. All in all a success story!

An absolute must for anyone with a sense of humour or If one needs a bit of distraction and a good laugh.
