Radio Drama for ESL Listening Practice

Very Unimportant Person -
An excellent doomsday story about the day the a-bombs start to fall, and of a strange passenger in an airplane.

"What would you say to a whole rolling world, full of fire? Flames leaping a mile in the air? Flames and smoke and destruction chasing you, consuming everything in their path? What would you say to the solid rock boiling like water in a kettle, the world vaporizing horribly behind you?"

The Pathetic Fallacy - ESL Radio Drama
The Pathetic Fallacy -
The human brain is basically an electrical device. Can a computer be constructed that is so complex as to duplicate the human brain? If so, does such a machine have consciousness and emotions?

A huge machine, taking up several rooms, has been built to solve mathematical equations. A scientist named Quinn assures reporters that despite its complexity and the fact that he referred to it as an electronic brain, it does not actually think.

"The Pathetic Fallacy" is an amusing and relevant story. It may be possible to create new "biological" life by ordering DNA. As technology becomes more complex and is made to simulate life in more and more ways, it becomes increasingly difficult to determine what is alive and what isn't.
